She is young, talented, mystic and has this powerful image signature. It is a beautiful sense very connected with a eastern mood and identity. Sanna Annukka is the evidence of a powerful connection between the cold Scandinavian Peninsula and the warm mid Asia tropicalism.

I’m an illustrator and printmaker with a love for nature and folklore. I’m half finnish and half english. I spent many summers throughout my childhood in Paltaniemi, a village in Finland, swimming and fishing in Oulujarvi and exploring the forests. I also travelled to Lapland, camping by artic rivers enjoying the midnight sun. The forests, lakes and wildlife of where I grew up heavily inspire my work. Lapland is one of my favourite places on earth and also Chamonix (in France) where I go snowboarding most years.

The Pattern Foundry is an online tool for buying background patterns.

Presented in a very interesting graphic way, it has many different designs, ranging from simple geometric pictograms to nice elaborate drawings.

Their text: “The Pattern Foundry is an archive of decorative patterns, open for anyone to license and use, created by designers and artists from around the world. The uses of these patterns are not prescribed; they can be applied anywhere and to anything. All patterns must be licensed (payed for) through the pattern Foundry to be used anywhere.”

This pattern is a collaboration between artist Tatiana Rihs and the artists collective Körner Union. Mainly inspired by Sol Lewitt’s researches and drawings around cubes, then adding another layer to them: the Blob.
